Geriatric Medicine, Aging Science and Elderly Care

The Geriatric Medicine, Aging Science and Elderly Care track focuses on the health, wellbeing, and medical needs of aging populations, addressing the physiological, psychological, and social aspects of aging. This session explores key areas such as age-related diseases, frailty, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, cardiovascular aging, and metabolic disorders in older adults. Participants will gain insights into the biological processes of aging, including cellular senescence, genetic influences, and lifestyle factors that contribute to healthy or pathological aging. The track highlights comprehensive approaches to elderly care, including preventive medicine, chronic disease management, rehabilitation, palliative care, and long-term care systems. Through research presentations, clinical case studies, and expert discussions, attendees will examine advancements in geriatric assessment tools, assistive living technologies, home-based care models, and community support systems designed to improve the quality of life for older individuals. The session also addresses challenges such as multimorbidity, polypharmacy, caregiver burden, healthcare accessibility, and age-related mental health issues including depression and cognitive decline. Special emphasis is placed on healthy aging strategies, nutrition, physical activity, social engagement, and preventive healthcare interventions that promote independence and functional ability in older adults. Participants will explore the role of technology, including telemedicine, wearable health devices, and AI-driven monitoring systems, in enhancing elderly care and safety. The track encourages collaboration among geriatricians, healthcare providers, researchers, social workers, and policymakers to develop integrated and compassionate care systems. By combining scientific research with clinical and social approaches, this session aims to support healthy aging, improve healthcare delivery for elderly populations, and enhance dignity, independence, and quality of life for older adults worldwide.
