Diabetes Medicare-2016

Diabetes Medicare-2016

Track 1: Diabetes Physiology

Diabetes and Metabolic syndrome diseases are one of the most significant global health concerns of modern times. The causes of type 2 diabetes are multi-factorial and include both genetic and environmental elements that affect beta-cell function and tissue (muscle, liver, adipose tissue, and pancreas) insulin sensitivity. A number of factors have been suggested as possibly linking insulin resistance and beta-cell dysfunction in the pathogenesis of Type 2 Diabetes. A majority of individuals suffering from type 2 diabetes are obese, with central visceral adiposity. According to the International Diabetes Federation, diabetes statistics says that there are more than 317 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes, and an additional 187 million are living undiagnosed. The global revenue earned from drugs sales to treat Type 2 Diabetes was approximately $36.89 billion in 2012 that is rapidly increasing in incidence and prevalence across the globe predicated to elevate this figure to approximately $68.42 billion by 2017. Patients with this disease cannot use glucose properly for their body needs. Latest Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice has led to the better living of the diabetic patients. In addition to this, self-monitoring of Blood glucose levels, lifestyle modifications and health eating habits are crucial in combating the critical manifestations of this disease which may require proper diabetes management. This may also include considerable amount of time educating patients and families on proper dietary, exercise and lifestyle habits to keep symptoms under control.

Track 2: Clinical Practices in Diabetes

Advances of Diabetes Cure which are available includes Incretin based therapies, oral therapeutic agents like secretagogues, beta cell regeneration & proliferation and Stem Cell Therapy for Diabetes.  Embryonic stem cell and fetal precursor cell transplantation therapies are the major stem cell therapies available for Diabetes. Apart from the above, various computational approaches in Diabetes management have been introduced recently with latest diabetes clinical trial going on which are playing an important role in identification of genes causing diabetes helping in Early Detection of Diabetes. These processes are also useful in studying the chemical etiologies of Diabetes uncovering various treatment prospects and model construction processes for survival prediction combating the complications of diabetes like Gestational Diabetes, Diabetes Myopathy, Diabetes cardiopathy and more.

Track 3: Trends in Diabetes Complication

With rising numbers of diagnosed diabetics, pharmaceutical manufacturers have capitalized on the burgeoning market for diabetes therapies. Manufacturers' efforts to develop non-invasive methods of insulin delivery are set to revolutionize the insulin therapy market, while demand for oral medications is on the upswing due to a growing Type 2 diabetic population and introduction of technologically advanced therapies for battling complications associated to Type 2 Diabetes like the most prevalent Diabetes Cardiomyopathy. With human embryonic stem cells as a starting point, the scientists are for the first time able to produce, in the kind of massive quantities needed for cell transplantation and pharmaceutical purposes, human insulin-producing beta cells equivalent in most every way to normally functioning beta cells. This will certainly help people recover the prognosis of the fatal disease like diabetes.

Track 4: Diabetes Medications & Pharmacotherapy

The global diabetes treatment market is undergoing significant transition driven by the advent of new analytical technologies and developments in Type 1 Diabetes and Advanced Type 2 Diabetes Treatment. There has been a drastic increase in the incidents of diabetes worldwide, owing to the rising level of lifestyles and obesity in global population. The diabetes treatment products include injectable diabetes drugs, oral drugs, insulin therapies, insulin pumps, insulin injection devices and blood glucose monitoring systems which eliminates the risk of reverse diabetes. According to the new report the world market for diabetes medications will reach $55.3bn in 2017. The anti-diabetic medicines industry generated $35.6bn in 2012, and its revenues will show strong growth to 2023. Monitoring glucose levels is critical for the management of diabetes and new and improved portable, less costly, easy-to-use, accurate and virtually painless blood glucose monitoring systems are now available to take control of the disease.

Track 5: Alternative Therapies for Diabetes

Diabetes Mellitus is a dreadful disease and is found in all parts of the world, becoming a serious threat of mankind health. There are lots of chemical agents available to take control on the disease, but total recovery from diabetes is the question to the treatment. Alternative to these synthetic agents, natural cure by plants provides a potential source curing complications of hypoglycemia and reverse Diabetes are widely used in several traditional systems of medicine to prevent prediabetes. Other alternative therapies such as supplements for diabetic, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and yoga therapies are reported to have less likely side effects of conventional approaches for diabetes.

Importance & Scope

Diabetes has increasingly become a lifestyle-related disease as it afflicts young and old. According to WHO Diabetes was estimated to affect 371 million people till the end of 2011in US. Whereas, new figures indicate that the number of people living with diabetes is expected to rise from 371 million in 2012 to 552 million by 2030. This indicates an urgent alarm for its management. As the number of patients grows across the globe, there has never been a stronger and more urgent need for therapeutic measures that arrest the growth of the disease and alleviate its secondary manifestations. In Type 1 diabetes total β-cell loss occurs. In Type 2 diabetes, partial β-cell loss occurs before diagnosis, and the progressive β-cell loss during the life of the patient increases the severity of the disease. This addresses novel therapies for these deficiencies in clinical and preclinical evaluation.

Many International Conferences and Diabetic therapies meetings/ symposium and workshops have been organized on different topics related to the risk factors related to diabetes across the globe such as glucose tolerability conference, diabetes stem cell cure conference, anti-diabetic agents meetings, obesity conferences, weight loss conferences, Islet transplantation international conference, glucose variability conferences etc. Besides that many international events such as diabetes alternative medicines events, insulin pump therapy events, pancreatic dysfunction events, recombinant approaches for diabetes events etc. Targeted Therapy Events have been also taking place in order to find a weapon against fatal diseases like diabetic foot, insulin resistance, glucose tolerability, obesity and to discuss the role of diabetes in cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, risk of cancer and intolerability to cure the wound which will gives a better insight about the associated causes and disease portfolio.

Why Malaysia (Asia-Pacific)?

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to International Conference on Targeting Diabetes and Novel Therapeutics to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Diabetic Medications-2016 meeting offers a unique opportunity to gather and network with colleagues from around the world in an exciting educational and professional environment in the field of diabetes.
